Mike has been writing and composing throughout his musical career alongside his guitar playing. Mike has frequently arranged and/or co-written during sessions. His first original works were debuted over 20 years ago on BBC’s “Sounds of Jazz” and were performed by his own Jazz Quintet ‘Pickup’.
Since then Mikes writing has expanded to encompass a range of library music, including works composed specifically for children, and “free mind” published by NorthStar Music (currently available online). More recently Mike has moved into the field of composing for media. He has had his music used for TV and streaming services such as Netflix.
He has a professional standard home studio and is able to complete composition and recording remotely. Mikes technological understanding and proficiency with computer software such as logic pro audio, coupled with his experience in the commercial session world enables him to create the perfect scores for commissions.
